Chosen theme: Hope
Meaning of the piece: The elimination of borders that isolate us; also an allusion to the borders of war zones where minefields would be marked by barbed wire and wooden fences [represented through cross-stitching].
Connection to the piece: A composition made of patchwork pieces originally created by family members and friends, using fabrics from different cultures.
